The Moscatel grape family, in its many variants, is one of the oldest in the world, having been known for millennia by the Greek and Roman civilisations. At Herdade da Mingorra, in 2016 we planted around 1 hectare of the Moscatel Graúdo variety, also known as Moscatel de Alexandria.
The variety’s behaviour in the schist soil of Talhão 71, where it showed late ripening and good sugar concentration without losing acidity, revealed its special aptitude for producing a singular liqueur wine.

TASTING
It shows the fragrant and floral aroma typical of the grape variety, but without excess, with great delicacy and finesse. In the mouth there are citrus notes, lots of orange and mandarin peel, candied fruit, moderate sweetness balanced by fresh acidity. It’s harmonious and light, with a finish that’s both intense and elegant.
