The Syrah grape variety has long been perfectly adapted to the hot, dry climate of Alentejo, and Herdade da Mingorra in particular, producing wines full of ripe fruit, with full body and soft tannins.
With Mulatto. we’ve tried to add another dimension to the traditional style of wines made from this variety, by fermenting it together with 59 of the white variety Moscatel Graúdo. An unlikely union that combines the power of Syrah with the delicate elegance of Moscatel to produce an even more complex, fresh and distinctive wine.

TASTING
This unique blend results in a wine that combines density and elegance, with a subtly perfumed aroma, notes of wild black fruit accompanied by hints of pepper and roses.
On the palate it’s smooth, enveloping and balanced, with fine acidity giving it liveliness and freshness.

2021
VINTAGE OF 2021 AT HERDADE DA MINGORRA
The year 2021 is remembered for its balance. A mild winter, with an unexpected late cold days and heavy rain during the end of January and February, led into great water concentration in soils in the beginning of vine’s vegetative cycle.
Due to the hot spring, the plants budburst early,but also had great vigor.
A mild summer, with stable temperatures, led to progressive and homogenous grape maturation, conserving a great acidic balance.
It was one of those years where Nature help whose work in the vineyards and the winery, and contributed for the great quality 2021’s vintage wines.
