The Grande Reserva red is born from a single plot with very special characteristics: Talhão 84. Occupying an area of 2 ha with a N/S orientation, schist soil and some limestone, it was planted in 2017 with the aim of replicating an old vineyard.
For that purpose, we selected and mixed seven different varieties on the plot which, when they reach a balanced point of ripeness, are harvested and fermented together. In years of excellence, we obtain our Grande Reserva, a perfect example of a single vineyard wine, with all its personality and uniqueness.

TASTING
The complex aroma reveals an attractive earthy note, reminiscent of humus and mushrooms, with wild berries and balsamic notes. Concentrated and deep, it shows vigorous tannins polished by the ageing in barrels. It’s a very rich, solid, fresh and very persistent red wine.

2020
VINTAGE OF 2020 AT HERDADE DA MINGORRA
The year 2020 at Herdade da Mingorra was challenging, affected by a rainy Spring and the hottest July ever at Alentejo. A year of contrasts, but also of balance – the Spring humidity was essential to plant growth and development and to ensure the grape ripeness during the hot days of Summer.
July’s hot temperatures delivered small grapes, that in association of an accurate day of harvesting, resulted in highly concentrated wines regarding the aroma and taste.
